 Andrew Ehrmann and Joey Adamji, Macalester College Andrew Ehrmann and Joey Adamji are Seniors at Macalester college in Saint Paul, Minnesota. They are speaking on behalf of the students who are a part of the Alliance to Re-Industrialize for a Sustainable Economy (ARISE). Over the past year this coalition of non-profits, labor representatives, students, and city officials have worked together to create a vision for the re-development of the local Twin Cities Ford Assembly Plant scheduled to close in 2009. The plan includes green manufacturing, clean industrial processes, and 2,000 family sustaining jobs in high density, livable communities. They, and many others from Macalester, are working side by side with youth all over the country who are collaborating to create a climate positive society. |
