Jonathan Adams, Communications Associate, is a writer and activist who works extensively on social justice issues within communities of color in the US and the Caribbean.
He honed his expertise in racial justice communications as the Media Fellow for Communities of African Descent at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). During this fellowship period, he worked with journalists to produce cutting edge stories about the lives of Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in publications like Essence Magazine, JET Magazine, and AOL Black Voices.
At the New York State Black Gay Network, Jonathan served as the Community Development Associate and worked directly with LGBT youth of color to find their voice in the community. Providing resources to build programs for young people, he managed projects across the state of New York to create innovative media outlets for youth.
Graduating from Emory University with a B.A. in African American Studies and Sociology, Jonathan writes on race and sexuality. His specific research interests include Black gay men in the rural South.
